Les gros-porteurs sénégalais ne respectent pas la charge à l’essieu. Actuellement, le taux de la surcharge est à plus de 50%, une des causes de la destruction des routes. L’Etat débloque chaque année 60 milliards pour réhabiliter les routes. Les acteurs sont revenus sur les conséquences de cette charge lors du séminaire organisé dans le cadre du programme d’appui à la gouvernance des transports terrestres par Pagotrans à l’intention des journalistes.
«Par an, le gouvernement du Sénégal investit près de 50 milliards de F Cfa pour l’entretien de ce patrimoine », note Babacar Diop, Secrétaire général de l’Anaser.
Malheureusement, ces investissements ne donnent pas le résultat escompté. Car «l’impact qu’on a eu à voir au niveau de la surcharge à l’essieu au Sénégal est de 60 milliards, 30 milliards au Burkina Faso et 39 milliards au Mali», a révélé Malang Faty, expert routier, qui faisait une présentation sur la charge.
C’est une vraie problématique en ce sens que l’Etat perd 10 milliards de francs chaque année dans le domaine routier, si l’on en croit à Malang Faty. «Depuis 2005, confie Malang Faty, ce sujet a toujours fait l’objet d’un débat au niveau de l’Uemoa. Mais, le problème n’est toujours pas résolu», se désole-t-il. Alors que la surcharge continue à causer énormément de problèmes au réseau routier.
A en croire M. Faty, les routes que l’Etat du Sénégal a construites sont faites pour durer 15 ans ou plus. «Mais, il y a un seul cas où il y a plus de 15 ans et tous les autres se réduisent à moitié ou au tiers», a-t-il révélé lors d’un atelier de sensibilisation des professionnels en sécurité routière dont le thème est : «Sensibiliser et permettre aux journalistes de disposer des informations sur le transport terrestre, la sécurité routière et l’impact de la surcharge à l’essieu.»
« Ce qui motive cet atelier c’est de vous sensibiliser et vous permettre, vous journalistes, d’avoir des informations sur le transport terrestre, la sécurité routière et l’impact de la surcharge à l’essieu sur le patrimoine routier», indique Babacar Diop.
