Après avoir été battus par la République Démocratique du Congo il y a trois jours (2-1) à l’occasion de leur première sortie dans ce tournoi des quatre nations qui se joue actuellement en Algérie, les Lions ont enregistré cet après-midi leur premier succès. Alors qu’ils affrontaient le Niger ce jeudi en deuxième journée, les protégés de Pape Thiaw se sont largement imposés au Stade Mustapha Tchaker (3-1), pour se relancer.
Après un nul d’un but partout à la mi-temps, le Sénégal a fini par remporter le duel grâce notamment au meilleur buteur de la Ligue 1, Bouly Sambou auteur d’un doublé et une réalisation de son coéquipier du Jaraaf de Dakar Albert Diène. Les Lions disputeront leur dernier match dans cette compétition le 13 juin face à l’Algérie, le pays hôte. Rappelons que ce tournoi est préparatif au septième Championnat d’Afrique des nations (CHAN 2023) qui aura lieu du 8 janvier au 5 février 2023.
