En très peu de temps, Microsoft a redonné un sérieux coup de jeune à Paint, le programme de manipulation d’images proposé avec Windows depuis 1985. Ce dernier a gagné la capacité de travailler avec des calques, d’effacer les arrière-plans, mais surtout, le pouvoir de générer des illustrations grâce à son IA générative multimodale basée sur DALL-E.
Paint a gagné la capacité de créer des images à partir d’une description textuelle. On vous explique comment en profiter de cet outil dès aujourd’hui. Si la procédure pour profiter de l’IA générative de Paint dans Windows 11 est assez simple, il y a tout de même quelques exigences à respecter. D’un point de vue matériel, il faut que votre système tourne sous Windows 11.
Par ailleurs, au niveau logiciel, comme l’outil Cocréateur de Paint n’est pas encore proposé dans la version grand public de Windows 11, il faut utiliser le logiciel dans une version bêta de l’OS, et donc s’inscrire au programme Windows Insider.
Pour ce faire, allez tout d’abord dans Paramètres, puis :
- _cliquez sur Windows Update
- _cliquez sur Programme Windows Insider
- _choisissez le canal Bêta, Dev ou Canary (dans l’ordre croissant d’instabilité)
- _configurez votre compte Windows Insiders

_Une fois votre inscription prise en compte et acceptée, Microsoft vous enverra un message de bienvenue au programme.
- _rendez-vous alors dans Windows Update
- recherchez les dernières mises à jour
- _relancez votre ordinateur
- _téléchargez la version de Paint pour votre build de Windows 11 sur le Microsoft Store
- _ouvrez Paint
Un nouveau menu Cocréateur est apparu dans la palette d’outils. Cliquez dessus pour demander l’accès à cette fonctionnalité (il vous sera accordé quasi instantanément).
Vous noterez, après avoir cliqué sur le bouton Cocréateur dans Paint, que vous avez droit à un nombre limité de requêtes (50 jetons, à raison d’un jeton par demande), ce qui suffit largement à tester les capacités de l’IA générative de Microsoft. Il ne vous reste plus ensuite qu’à décrire ce que vous souhaitez créer. Cocréateur, optimisé par DALL-E, générera alors trois images dans l’un des huit styles que vous aurez sélectionné (à choisir parmi Aquarelle, Animation ou encore Art en pixels).
