En effet, celle-ci sera baptisée « Pour toi », comme l’onglet le plus populaire de l’application chinoise. À ceci près qu’il est loin d’être aussi facile d’accès.
Si YouTube n’a de cesse de proposer des nouveautés pour maintenir l’intérêt de ses utilisateurs, force est de constater que ces derniers temps, les nouvelles fonctionnalités de la plateforme sont bien souvent inspirées de ce qui fait le sel de TikTok.
Beaucoup se sont certes moqués des Shorts, copie quasi parfaite, aussi populaire que coûteuse, du fil d’actualité de l’application chinoise. Mais ceux-ci ne sont pas la seule « inspiration » à laquelle s’est tenté YouTube.
Pourquoi s’arrêter en si bon chemin ? Aujourd’hui, YouTube a annoncé sur son compte X (Twitter) l’arrivée d’une nouvelle section sur son site et application.
Le nom a de quoi faire sourire les habitués de TikTok. En effet, celle-ci s’intitulera « Pour toi », exactement comme l’onglet sur lequel les utilisateurs du réseau social chinois passent le plus clair de leur temps. Comme on peut s’en douter, le principe sera ici (sensiblement) le même.

Si vous n’avez jamais mis un pied (un doigt ?) sur TikTok, l’onglet Pour toi est là où l’algorithme de TikTok use de toute sa magie. Il propose en effet des vidéos à l’infini, basées sur les goûts et les interactions de l’utilisateur, de sorte qu’il ne tombe (presque) jamais sur une vidéo qui ne l’intéresse pas. YouTube compte donc faire la même chose, mais de manière bien moins intuitive.
En effet, la version Pour toi de YouTube sera située sur la page d’accueil de la chaîne des vidéastes, au-dessus de toutes les autres sections déjà présentes (playlists, contenus populaires, etc.).
Au lieu de scanner l’entièreté de YouTube à la recherche de contenus personnalisés pour l’utilisateur, l’idée est donc ici de faire précisément cela, mais uniquement au sein de la chaîne du vidéaste concerné. Celui-ci devra avoir au préalable activé un paramètre permettant l’affichage de cette nouvelle section.
YouTube cherche donc par là à faire gagner du temps aux spectateurs en leur proposant directement des vidéos qui devraient leur plaire, en se basant sur leur historique de visionnage.
Pour les créateurs, en revanche, cette fonctionnalité est à double tranchant, car elle risque d’invisibiliser encore un peu plus les contenus moins populaires en ne mettant en avant que ceux qui fonctionnent plus que la moyenne.
