Avec iOS 14.5, Apple a imposé aux développeurs d’applications de demander l’autorisation des utilisateurs pour le suivi publicitaire. YouTube va bientôt suivre cette démarche en demandant aux utilisateurs iOS d’opter pour des publicités personnalisées via une demande de l’App Tracking Transparency (ATT) que l’on connaît sous le nom d’anti-pistage publicitaire.
Depuis la mise à jour iOS 14.5 en 2021, Apple a introduit l’App Tracking Transparency (ATT), mieux connu chez nous sous le nom d’ anti-pistage publicitaire .
Cette fonctionnalité oblige les applications à demander la permission des utilisateurs avant de collecter et de suivre leurs données à travers différentes applications et sites web.
L’objectif est de leur donner plus de contrôle sur leur vie privée et de limiter le partage de leurs données personnelles sans leur consentement explicite.
Durant la même année, en 2021, Google a arrêté d’utiliser certaines méthodes de suivi dans ses applications pour se conformer à la politique d’Apple, l’entreprise évite ainsi de devoir afficher la demande ATT ou anti-pistage publicitaire.
Cependant, YouTube, qui fait partie de cette société, va bientôt demander aux utilisateurs d’iOS s’ils souhaitent activer les publicités plus personnalisées grâce à une nouvelle demande de l’App Tracking Transparency.

Dans un futur proche, YouTube pour iOS affichera un message unique qui demandera aux utilisateurs d’autoriser la plateforme à suivre leur activité à travers d’autres applications et sites web. Ces derniers auront ensuite deux options : autoriser le suivi ou demander à l’application de ne pas suivre.
Si l’utilisateur accepte, les activités de YouTube seront liées à celles d’autres applications qui ne font pas partie de Google pour afficher des publicités personnalisées et mesurer l’efficacité de ces dernières.
Les abonnés à YouTube Premium et les utilisateurs de comptes enfants ne verront pas cette demande. Ceux qui choisissent de ne pas autoriser ce suivi recevront des publicités moins personnalisées, mais potentiellement moins pertinentes et plus répétitives.
Pour activer ou désactiver cette option, vous pouvez vous rendre dans les “paramètres“, puis dans “Confidentialité et sécurité” et enfin “Suivi”.
