C’est une tradition, au Sénégal, le président de la République gracie des détenus à l’occasion de la fête de l’Indépendance, de la Korité, de la Tabaski et du Nouvel an. Mais cette année, le rendez-vous n’a pas été honoré lors du 4-Avril ni pour la fin du Ramadan.
Dans son édition de ce jeudi, Wal fadjri Quotidien, qui s’est intéressé à la question, avance que les détenus éligibles, «emprisonnés dans les 37 prison du Sénégal, ont été oubliés par le Président Bassirou Diomaye Faye».
Mais une source judiciaire contactée par le journal refuse de s’alarmer.
«Il vient d’arriver, justifie cette dernière dans les colonnes de Walf. Il n’a pas tous les dossiers. Peut-être qu’il veut procéder à des vérifications sur les personnes éligibles à la grâce. Il veut être prudent, c’est normal.»
D’habitude, la liste des détenus graciés pour le 4-Avril est publiée la veille.
Mais le 3 avril dernier, Bassirou Diomaye Faye avait prêté serment, mais n’avait pas encore formé son gouvernement.
Pour la Korité, l’équipe gouvernementale est certes en place, mais la plupart des ministres, dont le Garde des Sceaux (Ousmane Diagne), maître d’œuvre des grâces, n’ont pas encore pris fonction officiellement.
La dernière mesure de grâce a été prise le 30 décembre dernier. Elle avait concerné 1372 prisonniers.
