Suite au tragique chavirement de la pirogue transportant 327 candidats à l’émigration irrégulière survenu Saint-Louis (nord) causant la mort de 27 personnes, les forces de l’ordre ont réussi à appréhender les principaux auteurs de cette aventure hasardeuse.
Les cerveaux de l’opération, O. Kane et P. Ndiaye, ont été arrêtés, ainsi que leurs trois (3) complices, tous originaires de Joal.
L’enquête a révélé que le voyage était orchestré par une bande de cinq (5) amis, avec O. Kane et P. Ndiaye en tant que cerveaux.
Lorsqu’ils ont été confrontés à des problèmes lors du voyage, notamment à l’insuffisance de carburant, les deux principaux organisateurs ont pris la fuite, laissant derrière eux leurs trois acolytes, qui ont été arrêtés par la Brigade de recherches de Saly Portudal.
Les forces de l’ordre ont ensuite réussi à localiser O. Kane et P. Ndiaye à Diourbel, où ils étaient réfugiés pour échapper à la vigilance des autorités. Les deux organisateurs ont été appréhendés et ont été conduits à Mbour pour être placés en garde à vue.
Face aux enquêteurs, les cinq organisateurs ont reconnu les faits qui leur sont reprochés.
Les trois hommes arrêtés à Joal ont révélé que O. Kane et P. Ndiaye étaient les cerveaux de l’opération, précisant qu’ils avaient empoché une somme d’argent plus importante que le reste du groupe.
Les deux principaux organisateurs ont expliqué aux enquêteurs qu’ils étaient réfugiés à Diourbel à la recherche de marabouts, espérant échapper aux poursuites judiciaires, rapporte L’Observateur.
Leur arrestation a eu lieu avant le chavirement tragique de la pirogue à Saint-Louis.
Les cinq organisateurs seront déférés aujourd’hui devant le parquet de Mbour pour répondre de leurs actes dans cette tragédie qui a coûté la vie à de nombreux candidats à l’émigration clandestine.
