Les populations de Mbao ont étalé, hier, leur colère lors d’une marche pacifique encadrée par la gendarmerie. Elles dénoncent les agressions de leur environnement par la pollution des usines des industries chimiques du Sénégal (Ics), les travaux inachevés des routes, la surexploitation du marigot de Mbao, réceptacle des eaux pluviales provenant de Keur Massar et d’autres localités et la spoliation de la forêt classée de Mbao.
Arborant des brassards rouges, elles ont battu le pavé pour exiger également la réaffectation d’une partie de la zac à leur collectivité territoriale pour des questions historiques, rapporte L’As. Et de demander aux autorités d’accorder plus de considération à leur commune. Les manifestants invitent le maire à se joindre à leur lutte pour la protection de l’environnement de Mbao menacé de jour en jour.
