La Gendarmerie nationale passe à la vitesse supérieure dans sa lutte contre l’insécurité dans le Sud-Est du Sénégal. Lancée le 18 avril 2025, l’opération “Fanganta 3” déploie un dispositif d’envergure dans la région de Kédougou, avec un objectif clair : assainir les zones criminogènes, en particulier autour des sites d’orpaillage clandestin.
Selon un communiqué officiel du Haut-commandement de la Gendarmerie nationale, les forces de sécurité ont lancé cette offensive sécuritaire pour renforcer le contrôle des localités où prolifèrent les activités illicites, notamment les sites miniers informels de Bougouda et Bantaco.
À la date du 20 avril 2025, le bilan provisoire fait état de résultats significatifs.
Plusieurs diouras — ces camps de fortune occupés par les orpailleurs — et bars clandestins ont été démantelés.
Les saisies opérées témoignent de l’ampleur des activités illégales dans la zone :
• 72 groupes électrogènes
• 55 marteaux piqueurs
• 5 panneaux solaires
• 10 bidons de 20 litres de gazole
• 1 motocyclette
• 4,5 kg de chanvre indien
• Plusieurs caisses de cannettes de boissons alcoolisées et de cigarettes
Ce coup de filet traduit la volonté des autorités de lutter contre les dérives liées à l’orpaillage illégal, souvent associé à une insécurité croissante, à la prolifération de stupéfiants et à la dégradation de l’environnement.
