Seules 7,69% des femmes sont représentées dans le secteur extractif du Sénégal, a indiqué, lundi, la responsable du projet plaidoyer de l’ONG Woman in mining Sénégal (WIM), Gnagna Diéne Diassé.
’’D’après le rapport de l’initiative pour la transparence dans les industries extractives (ITIE) de 2020, les femmes ne représentent que 7,69% dans le secteur extractif. Ce chiffre ne couvre que les entreprises minières, pétrolières et gazières qui entrent dans le périmètre de conciliation de cette institution’’, a-t-elle déclaré.
Mme Diassé participait à un atelier de deux jours, sur les enjeux et défis de la gouvernance dans le secteur extractif.
Selon elle, il s’agit là d’un chiffre partiel qui ne tient ni compte des femmes œuvrant dans l’administration minière, ni les femmes entrepreneurs, ni celles qui sont impactées par les activités extractives.
’’Ce qui justifie le fait que les femmes soient peu nombreuses dans le secteur, c’est la difficulté liée à l’accès à des financements assez conséquents pouvant leur permettre d’avoir une caution de démarrage de leurs travaux’’, a-t-elle souligné.
A l’en croire, l’aspect sociologique explique également l’absence des femmes dans ce secteur, à cause de l’existence d’une division sexuée du travail dans certaines zones.
Elle a soutenu que les femmes entrepreneurs dans ce secteur bénéficient très faiblement des opportunités économiques en termes d’emploi et de marché dans le contenu local.
’’Malheureusement, il n’y a pas des cartographies pouvant donner une idée assez claire sur le nombre de femmes qui en profitent ainsi que les difficultés rencontrées’’, a-t-elle insisté.
