La Douane de Thiès a procédé à l’incinération de produits prohibés d’une contrevaleur de 437 millions de francs CFA.
Les produits prohibés saisis en 2021, dans le cadre des opérations de « bouclage » des couloirs et réseaux de trafic illicite, sont composés de faux médicaments vétérinaires d’une contrevaleur de 175 259 382 francs CFA ; de 3529 kg de chanvre indien pour une contrevaleur de 236 940 000 francs CFA ; de sachets en plastique pour une contrevaleur de 25 000 000 francs CFA.
L’adjointe au Gouverneur de Thiès, Mme Tening Faye Ba, a supervisé la cérémonie d’incinération en présence des représentants des autres Forces de Défense et de Sécurité, du corps médical et des services en charge de l’environnement.
Le Lieutenant-Colonel Amadou Lamine Sarr, Chef du Groupement polyvalent de Recherche et de répression de la fraude a rappelé la dangerosité des produits incinérés sur la santé de la population.
Il a affirmé une fois de plus l’engagement de son unité à combattre farouchement le trafic illicite sur toutes ses formes conformément aux directives de la Direction générale des Douanes, le DG en particulier.
L’Adjointe au Gouverneur, Tening Faye Ba, a ensuite, invité les populations, celles du littoral plus précisément, à une collaboration plus étroite avec les forces de défense et de sécurité.
