Pour la réhabilitation et le bitumage de la route Oréfondé-Nguidjilone, longue de 62 km, le gouvernement sénégalais a obtenu un prêt de 47 millions de dollars, soit 27 milliards 605 millions 916 mille francs Cfa, du Fonds saoudien de développement. Le ministre de l’Economie, du plan et de la coopération, Amadou Hott, a signé hier l’accord de ce financement avec le Président-directeur général du Fonds saoudien de développement, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad.
Les usagers de la route Oréfondé-Nguidjilone, dans la région de Matam, vont bientôt pousser un ouf de soulagement. Pour la réhabilitation et le bitumage de ce tronçon long de 62 km, le gouvernement du Sénégal a acquis un financement auprès du Fonds saoudien de développement. Il s’agit d’un prêt de 47 millions de dollars, soit 27 milliards 605 millions 916 mille francs Cfa. Le Président-directeur général du Fsd, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, et le ministre sénégalais de l’Economie, du plan et de la coopération, Amadou Hott, ont procédé hier à la signature de l’accord de financement.
Ce projet a pour but d’établir et agrandir la route, ainsi qu’à améliorer le niveau de sécurité routière, conformément aux normes approuvées par l’Union économique et monétaire ouest-africaine (Uemoa). Il contribuera également à répondre aux besoins des habitants des villes et des villages, à diminuer la pénibilité des services de transports, à réduire les taux de blessures et de décès résultant d’accidents de la circulation, tout en facilitant le processus des échanges commerciaux et économiques.
Pour Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, ce projet aura un impact positif sur le développement social et économique de la République du Sénégal, car il contribuera à fournir le soutien nécessaire aux services d’infrastructures de base. Ces derniers permettront au Peuple sénégalais d’atteindre leurs besoins quotidiens pour améliorer le niveau socio-économique. Le Pdg du Fsd apprécie ainsi les efforts des deux parties en vue de contribuer à la réalisation des Objectifs de développement durable, souhaitant que ce projet contribue à l’atteinte de la croissance et de la prospérité du Sénégal.
Ainsi Amadou Hott a-t-il salué le rôle joué par le gouvernement du Royaume d’Arabie Saoudite à travers le Fsd dans le soutien des projets et programmes de développement, et l’évolution du secteur des transports et des communications au Sénégal. Le ministre de préciser que ce projet relie les villes et les villages, et qu’il contribuera à l’amélioration des conditions socio-économiques du Peuple sénégalais.
Pour rappel, «depuis 1977, en plus de cet accord, le fonds a fourni 26 prêts de développement pour contribuer au financement de 25 projets et programmes de développement d’une valeur d’environ 384 millions de dollars, et gérer quatre subventions accordées par le gouvernement du Royaume d’une valeur supérieure à 19 millions de dollars. Ces projets visent à soutenir les secteurs des transports et des infrastructures, de la santé, du logement, de l’aménagement urbain, de l’énergie, de l’éducation, de l’eau et de l’assainissement, afin de contribuer à la croissance, à la prospérité du Sénégal et à l’atteinte des Objectifs de développement durable».
