Nouveau ministre de l’Environnement, du développement durable et de la transition écologique, Alioune Ndoye s’est rendu hier au Lac Rose dont l’existence est menacée par le déversement des eaux pluviales sur son lit. Et l’activité économique risque aussi de s’éteindre.
Que faire pour sauver Retba ? Pomper l’excédent d’eau pour le déverser dans la mer. C’est ce que préconisent les acteurs s’activant autour du Lac Rose pour la survie de leur activité économique fortement menacée par le trop-plein d’eau dans le lac. «Ce que nous pensons être la solution qui nous permettrait de pérenniser l’activité économique autour du lac, c’est que l’Etat procède au pompage des eaux pour les déverser dans la mer qui est très proche», a exhorté mardi, Maguette Ndiour, président de la Coopérative des acteurs de la filière sel. «Avec ce niveau d’eau inédit au lac, il sera impossible de pouvoir extraire du sel et toutes les activités autour du lac sont en sursis», a-t-il fait savoir.
Pour juguler les inondations faisant suite aux fortes pluies enregistrées cette année, les autorités avaient reprofilé les voies d’eau pour faire du lac, l’exutoire des eaux pluviales en provenance de la zone de Sangalkam, Kounoune et même de la banlieue dakaroise. Des dizaines de tonnes de sel avaient été ainsi englouties, le village artisanal et certains hôtels submergés par les eaux débordantes paralysant ainsi l’activité. Nouveau ministre de l’Environnement, du développement durable et de la transition écologique, Alioune Ndoye s’est rendu mardi sur place pour constater de visu les dégâts.
«Si on n’avait pas fait recours à ce procédé, il pouvait même y avoir mort d’homme», a dit Alioune Ndoye pour relever la justesse de l’opération de drainage des eaux vers le lac. Même s’il n’a pas promis des mesures concrètes sur place, M. Ndoye, qui a dirigé une réunion technique avec les acteurs en présence du Gouverneur et autres, a fait part de la volonté de l’Etat de trouver des solutions au plus tôt face au problème. «Des missions techniques nous ont précédés avec des pré-rapports qui nous ont été transmis, mais il était bon que nous-mêmes, nous venions regarder et surtout échanger sur place avec les acteurs concernés», a fait comprendre le ministre au terme de la réunion.
«Ce sont plusieurs ministères qui doivent agir en même temps et en toute collégialité, pour que de façon urgente, on puisse réunir nos différentes directions et que le diagnostic qui est fait puisse être partagé et qu’il y ait des pistes de solution dans un très court terme», a-t-il noté, assurant que des études sont entamées pour mettre en place des solutions structurantes afin de rendre à la zone, toute son attractivité.
