Le candidat déclaré à l’élection présidentielle du 24 février 2024 au Sénégal par ailleurs ancien Premier ministre, s’est engagé, mardi 12 mars 2024 à annuler l’ensemble des accords de pêche liant le Sénégal à d’autres entités, s’il sortait victorieux de l’élection présidentielle.
« Au lendemain de notre élection comme président de la République, la première mesure que je prendrais, est l’annulation de tous les accords de pêche qui ont été signés par le Sénégal », a déclaré Mahammad Boun Abdallah Dionne.
Le candidat de « Dionne 2024 » intervenait après avoir signé la charte pour une pêche durable, initiée par la Coalition nationale pour une pêche durable (CONADEP).
Selon le candidat à la présidentielle du 24 mars 2024, « le poisson sénégalais sera en priorité pour les pêcheurs, les industries sénégalaises, mais également les femmes transformatrices du secteur de la pêche ».
Il dit vouloir mettre en place une politique de subvention pour accompagner le secteur et renouveler le pacte aussi bien industriel qu’artisanal.
Ce programme consistera à subventionner à hauteur de 80 % tout le secteur à travers notamment l’achat de matériel et de carburant pour les pirogues à la pêche industrielle.
L’objectif visé est d’augmenter les capacités de production, selon Mahammad Boun Abdallah Dionne.
« Dans tout le Sénégal, 718 km de côte maritime, nous n’avons qu’un port de pêche. Notre engagement est de bâtir au Sénégal, sur les cinq ans de la durée du mandat unique que je souhaite faire, deux ports de pêche supplémentaires », a-t-il poursuivi.
Il a souligné que son souhait est que ce nombre soit porté à cinq au cours du mandat suivant.
Concernant la protection de l’environnement, il a demandé aux acteurs de la pêche d’être plus vigilants en perspective de la production de gaz et de pétrole au Sénégal.
« Je demanderai au secteur d’être plus exigeant en termes de pollution marine, d’écosystème et également de respect des normes en ce qui concerne la pêche illégale », a-t-il conclu.
