Aussi, a-t-il poursuivi : « par le passé, on intervenait militairement, si la CEDEAO continuait à le faire, peut-être qu’on n’en serait pas là. C’est une décision extrême, elle n’est pas souhaitable mais si nous devons être impuissants devant des pays qui foulent au pied les règles communes, il y a problème. Mais ça, ce n’est pas le propre de l’Afrique. C’est aussi la même difficulté qu’a le Conseil de sécurité sur nombre de crises dans le monde. C’est ce que nous dénonçons aussi aujourd’hui sur la nécessité de réformer le système onusien y compris la composition du Conseil de sécurité parce qu’en réalité les gens se neutralisent et on ne peut pas avancer, on ne peut pas apporter des réponses concrètes aux situations de nos pays ».
