Depuis le 21 septembre 2022, le lieutenant Ismaëla Diagne Chef de la Brigade du Service d’hygiène et ses hommes sont à pied d’œuvre pour permettre aux populations de Tivaouane et les pèlerins de célébrer le Maouloud dans les meilleures conditions.
Il explique dans ce sens : « nous menons des opérations étalées sur 10 jours. Ces opérations sont réparties en deux volets. Le premier concerne le pompage des domiciles et des lieux publics, pour combattre les moustiques et les autres insectes nocifs aux personnes. Le second est relatif à la campagne de sensibilisation, à travers les visites à domicile pour conscientiser les populations sur la gestion des ordures et des eaux usées ».
« Ces opérations visent aussi à lutter contre la vente de produits impropres à la consommation, d’où les inspections au niveau des marchés et boutiques de quartier effectuées par les soldats de l’hygiène » précise-t-il.
Le lieutenant Diagne magnifie la collaboration de la municipalité qui a mis à sa disposition 150 jeunes volontaires pour le pompage des domiciles et la sensibilisation des populations.
